Hear from some of our Inspired Educators!:

"Ms. Cleveland helped me develop my first successful lesson with a group of unmanageable fourth grade students at PS 298 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Before she became my mentor teacher, I could not teach an entire lesson without interruptions, distractions, shouting, and frustration. She truly encouraged me to take my time, and recognize that I had to be the leader of my classroom. Ms. Cleveland offered amazing support and suggestions after each and every lesson to help me get the kids to participate and have fun. Even though I felt as though I could do nothing right, she always found a way to end on a positive note. Ms. Cleveland was the motivation I needed to continue teaching."

    -Tamiko Forrest, Harlem, NY

"Ms. Cleveland was pivotal in my development as a new teacher. Having had no classroom experience, I relied on Ms. Cleveland to give me feedback on each lesson, each day, in order to grow as a professional. Ms. Cleveland served as an example of what great teaching looked like and regularly gave constructive criticism and praise on management, lesson planning and execution.  I learned to look at myself first as the teacher before looking at my students. It was a very empowering experience, and as a second year teacher at Brooklyn Charter School, I still refer to notes and feedback from lessons that I taught that summer with Ms. Cleveland."

    -Nibette LaFrennie, Brooklyn Charter School

"This is SO good! The tips are excellent for helping me gain perspective on dealing with my more difficult kids, and keeping myself centered in the process."

    -Lizzette Johnson, Brooklyn, NY
